Shweta Pandit travels to the world capital of music Stockholm
Shweta Pandit, Bollywood playback/recording vocalist, songwriter, performing artist and actress and grand-niece of renowned Indian classical vocalist and Padma Vibhushan awardee, Pandit Jasraj was scheduled to travel to Stockholm for work but decided to travel earlier and explore the city. The artist and actress is scheduled to perform at an event where the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Indian diaspora in Stockholm on April 17th.
In her free time while there she plans to explore the city. “This is my first time to Stockholm and I am really excited to explore the city. I have always been fascinated by Sweden and have been listening to music by Swedish music legends like ABBA and Roxette ever since I was a kid. Sweden is such a music rich country that I even heard music by Swedish House Mafia playing as background music at the airport, I’m loving it! It is spring time in Stockholm and I really appreciate the crisp fresh air and just strolling around the beautiful city.”
Shweta visited the famous ABBA museum in Sweden and plans to come back again soon. “I have to visit Stockholm again, the ABBA museum has a new exhibition that opens to the public in May that depicts everything that happened to AnniFrid, Björn, Benny and Agnetha after their years in ABBA. I am a music nerd and I would love to be there again.”
“Sweden is the largest exporter of pop music per capita and the third largest in the world. Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, ABBA, Europe, Roxette, Tove Lo, Icona pop, Zara Larsson started off in Sweden and achieved global success. In addition, Swedish song writers and producers like Max Martin, Carl Falk, RedOne and Shellback have written and composed songs for Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and more! It is an extraordinary achievement for a country of just ten million people and I’m so happy to have finally visited this country.” she added.
Shweta was last in Scandinavia performing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo in 2010 with AR Rahman.
