Sports Events 365 expects to more than double sales in Romania

Sports Events 365 expects to more than double sales in Romania following a deal with local TUI subsidiary.

Sports Events 365has signed a wide-ranging cooperation agreement with TUI TravelCenter, the Romanian subsidiary of TUI Group, the world’s largest travel agency, for marketing its services in the Romanian market. Under the terms of the agreement, TUI TravelCenter will offer access to its B2B and B2C customers to major sporting events outside the country through the use of Sports Events 365’s database and search engine.

The Romanian market is relatively new for Sports Events 365. “Following the deal, we expect our revenues in Romania to reach 500,000 Euro within six months,” predicts Sefi Donner, founder and CEO of Sports Events 365. He adds that Romania is an emerging market with a keen interest in sports tourism especially in European football and that Romanians are increasingly travelling to matches and tournaments in Italy, France, Spain and England. In addition, Donner notes that there is growing interest in tennis largely due to the success of Simona Halep, currently ranked sixth in the world. Another sport that is closely followed is handball, where Romania has several teams that play in European tournaments.

TUI TravelCenter is one of the largest travel agencies in Romania, operating 80 offices throughout the country. Revenues in 2017 reached 100 million Euro. Beyond the sale of tickets through its Romanian language website, Sports Events 365 is hoping that its first agreement with a TUI Group subsidiary will open the door for wider cooperation with the world’s largest travel agency in other parts of Europe.
