SriLankan Airlines hosted Agents & Cargo Awards Night in Chennai and New Delhi, March 2017

SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, hosted two separate award ceremonies in North & South India this month to felicitate its best-performing travel agents and cargo team in India. The awards were based on the performance of the Agents over financial year 2015/2016.

The Tamil Nadu Agents Awards were held on 3rd March 2017 at The Taj Coromandel Hotel, Chennai and was attended by 258 guests while the Delhi Agents Awards 2015-2016 held on 17th March 2017 at ITC Maurya, Delhi was attended by equal numbers of agents & who’s who from travel fraternity.

The evening commenced with the welcome dance by the Srilankan dancers and the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest of honour & dignitaries which later followed with a speech delivered by CCO Siva Ramachandran, GM Saminda Perrera, Regional Manager Lalith De Silva, Consul General – Saroja Sirisena, Country Manager Chinthaka Weerasinghe and Deputy Manager Karnataka SP Mohan. The high on glamour evening was attended by the senior management of Srilankan Airline and the staff of the airline’s Sales Department which works closely with the country’s travel agents.

CCO Siva Ramachandran said: “Our heartiest congratulations to all of our Top Ten travel agents, who have been our valued partners for many years and play a vital role in supporting our country’s travel and tourism industry.” Hefurther added, “SriLankan Airlines is fortunate to have such staunch support from our travel community, and we look forward to many more years of fruitful partnerships with each of these travel agents.”

The awards ceremony ended with the vote of thanks taken over by the country manager Chinthaka Weerasinghe at the Delhi event and SP Mohan at Chennai event, who thanked the  Srilankan Airlines honorable dignitaries, winners and guest along with Outbound Konnections for the wonderful event put together.
