SriLankan Airlines hosted an evening of cultural extravaganza in Kolkata
Celebrating its months of association with ‘City of Joy’, SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, hosted an evening of cultural rendezvous for its patrons & GSA’s present in Kolkata & West Bengal. The cultural event was held on Thursday, 10th August at The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata and was attended by more than 200 guests.
SriLankan Airlines started operations between Kolkata & Colombo last year which has further strengthened the connectivity between two cities. Ever since the services began, SriLankan Airlines received tremendous support from the GSA’s & travel community in Kolkata. The evening was a celebration to acknowledge their support, strengthen the relationship and bring Sri Lanka closer to its patrons in Kolkata.
The evening commenced with the welcome dance by the SriLankan dancers and the lighting of the traditional lamp by the guest of honour & dignitaries which included CCO -Mr Siva Ramachandran, Area Manager Kolkata –Lalith Peiris, Manager Marketing – Pradeep Durairaj, Country Manager –Chinthaka Weerasinghe and Chairman of STIC Travels – Subhash Goyal.
The lamp lighting was followed by welcome speech by Lalith Peiris, Area Manager – Kolkata for SriLankan Airlines where he thanked the GSA’s & guests for attending the evening. This was followed by another creative performance by SriLankan dance troupe where they showcased the beauty & rich culture of Sri Lanka with a stimulating dance. The dancers kept the audience engaged until the end with their impeccable choreographed performances
CCO, Siva Ramachandran, also addressed the guests and spoke about SriLankan Airlines and cultural connect between Sri Lanka & India. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks and a raffle draw. The high on culture evening was attended by the GSA’s, travel community and Kolkata’s elite.
