TIRUN Travel Marketing Royal Caribbean welcomes the world’s largest cruise ship

Cruise lovers from metros eager to get onboard the world’s largest cruise ship Symphony of the Seas, 80% of total Indian bookings from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

36 months, 4700 builders, crew members and one common goal-to create an unparalleled example of maritime architecture that revolutionizes the world of cruising. A full 3 years later, Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas-the largest cruise ship in the world is set to be launched in the month of April this year. TIRUN, the exclusive Indian representative of Royal Caribbean Cruises, has already received a large number of booking queries, especially from Tier-I cities, with Delhi claiming 40%, Mumbai 25% and Bengaluru 15% of total Indian bookings made onboard an architectural wonder and a matchless joyride that is the Symphony of the Seas.

RCI recently held an honorary event to mark the traditional flag-changing ceremony which symbolizes the ship’s official delivery from the ship builder, STX France to its owner, Royal Caribbean. The event also saw the project members being honored for their tireless efforts at realizing a vision, which on paper, looked unachievable. Held at STX France’s shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, the event was attended by Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., and Laurent Castaing, General Manager of STX France.

Symphony of the Seas is the 25th ship in RCI’s fleet. Weighing a mammoth 228, 081 gross registered tonnes, it undoubtedly is the Goliath of the seas, measuring 238 ft tall and 1,188 ft long. With a capacity to welcome 5,518 guests at double occupancy in 2,759 state rooms, it also includes 28 additional balcony rooms that overlook the ocean or the signature Boardwalk neighbourhood, one of the seven distinctive neighbourhoods punctuating the Symphony!

Rewarding families on board with an unmatchable experience of togetherness, Symphony has focused heavily on delivering the definitive family adventure. It starts with the Ultimate Family suite, a two-level suite equipped with room-to-room slides, LEGO walls, air-hockey tables and even a 3D Cinema Theater! The excitement just continues to grow as one steps out, with a full-size whirlpool and the longest slide at sea, called the Ultimate Abyss, along with a slew of other adventure rides, for families to bond over amidst shrieks, roars, and laughter! Lest we forget, the ship has also introduced Royal Caribbean’s first glow-in-the-dark laser tag game, Battle for Planet, in a space-bound adventure that will see teams go head-to-head to lay claim on the last planet in the galaxy. For those who like to grab every opportunity to exercise their gray matter, Escape the Rubicon-an escape room game- will prove to be the ultimate race against the clock, with the goal of solving a collection of puzzles before time runs out!

However, the time for fun never runs out aboard Symphony, as travelers, after intense adventure sessions, can head straight to the amazingly diverse culinary section, offering everything from gourmet delicacies to DIY ice-creams and sugar candies! From Hooked Seafood situated in the Solarium atop the ship to the sports-themed Playmaker Sports bar and arcade, Mexican ‘street food’ destination El Loco Fresh to the kids’ favourite Sugar beach candy store, these culinary hotspots aboard the ship will surely hit all the right notes with your taste buds!

Commenting on the launch, Ratna Chadha, Co-Founder and CEO, TIRUN said, “Pushing the envelope of innovation, Symphony of the Seas has redefined the idea of cruise ships by a long margin. RCI’s Oasis class has always been a trend-setter in terms of design, amenities and infrastructure, but with this ship, it has managed to take cruise vacationing to an all new level. We are proud to welcome this royal new member to the RCI family, and we firmly believe that this fine example of hard work, technological brilliance, and resource collaboration will embark upon boundless adventures, creating everlasting memories and innumerable happy guests in the process!”

As the evening stars gather in the sky, Symphony of the Seas also starts to glow in the aura of the performances to follow! Travelers can enjoy the Tony-Award winning Broadway hit Hairspray or an original, one-of-a-kind RCI production Flight, that shows you the sky and the history, as well as the future of flying. The Studio B: 1977 is a beautiful story of time-travel told by ice-skaters that is bound to leave the audiences amazed. And finally, for those to whom cruise means casinos and lots of water, Casino Royale, the largest casino at sea and the iconic Aquatheater: Hiro, with all its high-flying acrobatics and diving, are there to present a ‘winning’ hand!

Symphony of the Seas’ maiden 7-night Mediterranean voyage departs on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from Barcelona, Spain, where the 2,200 international crew members, proudly representing 77 countries around the world, will initiate the journey amidst rousing celebrations. The ship will then homeport in Barcelona for the summer, visiting Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence, France; and Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples, Italy. Beginning Nov. 10, Miami, FL. will be the ship’s year-round homeport, making it the first new Oasis Class ship to sail from the cruise capital of the world through Royal Caribbean’s new state-of-the-art Terminal A. The 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises will then arrive on CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s newly revealed destination in the Bahamas.
