VFS global organizes an evening to remember – an annual diplomatic gathering

An evening to remember

VFS global organized their annual diplomatic gathering, which saw the participation of around 350 members from the diplomatic fraternity comprising of embassy officials and guests from travel & hospitality industry.

Representatives from over 35 diplomatic missions, along with the Ambassadors, Deputy Heads and Minister Counselors from the  Czech Republic, Malta, Slovenia, Cyprus, Spain, Belgium, South Africa, China  and the Netherlands, among many others, got together for an informal evening.

Speaking about the event, Ms. Judith M Helle (Head of Visa & Consular Section, Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi), said, “We would like to thank VFS for the excellent Rendezvous held on the 22nd of January. Great hospitality, entertainment, music and food.  I would also like to use the opportunity to VFS for their cooperation, and the great and professional efforts put in every day, towards our applicants going to Norway. It has been a great pleasure to cooperate with you since the start of our outsourcing in July 2015, and we look forward to the cooperation with VFS in the years to come.”

And she wasn’t the only one who felt that way. The Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in New Delhi, Mr Boris Jelovšek, said at the event, “The Rendezvous 2016 was really amazing.  Everything was excellent selected place and time, food and drink, music and dance. It was a show of Incredible India from sophisticated lady’s Trio in white to colorful Punjabi dancers who both know to entertain and invigorate the enthusiasm of all participants. I asked your fortuneteller whether I will go to Skopje or Vienna. She checked Tarot cards and answered: ‘Macedonia is not on horizon for the first six months of this year but Vienna next year for sure’. We enjoyed a lot and we are very thankful to organizers for the unforgettable event.”

Ms. Alberta Borg, First Secretary / Consul, Embassy of Malta expressed her gratitude by saying “Each year I look forward to the famous VFS Rendezvous, an opportunity to meet the vast consular network in Delhi.  The event is always well organized and this year was no exception! The decor was classically beautiful and although the weather was cold, the entertainment kept us swaying to the rhythm.

In addition to her, Mr. Paulo Chaves, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Portugal in New Delhi said, “Once again, VFS did it perfect. It was a fantastic night, nice weather and environment, great food and even better musical background. It was a night to celebrate our friendship and, like they say here: it’s a great party if it’s a Punjabi party! Thanks VFS for the lovely evening.”

It truly was a night to remember with wine and food flowing in abundance. The quiet and spacious Indigo transformed into a vivid kaleidoscope of entertainment with fusion music and live performances. Tarot card readers, mehendi artists and bangle stalls were an instant favourite with the guests. The guests also found it difficult to not foot tap and jive to the live music by the Russian band and enthralling performances by a Bhangra troupe.
