VIETNAM AIRLINES BEGINS DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM BENGALURU, STRENGTHENING INDIA-VIETNAM CONNECTIVITY FROM SOUTH INDIA

Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier of Vietnam, operated its inaugural direct flight from Bengaluru, the Silicon Valley of India, to Hanoi today. The airline will operate four weekly flights from Bengaluru to Hanoi using the modern Airbus A321 aircraft, offering passengers a premium flying experience with comfortable seating, curated Indian meal options, modern cabin interiors, and world-renowned Vietnamese hospitality.

This launch makes Vietnam Airlines operational in three major metros in India – Delhi, Mumbai, and now Bengaluru, further enhancing its presence in the fast-growing South Indian market and marking a significant milestone in its India expansion strategy.

The inaugural ceremony at Kempegowda International Airport witnessed a lively celebration with a ceremonial cake cutting, attended by airport dignitaries, Vietnam Airlines representatives, and Aeroprime Group officials. Passengers also had the opportunity to engage in various activities at the airport, including capturing memorable moments at designated photo spots and exploring the art installations that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager India, Vietnam Airlines, said, “South India is an increasingly important market for us, and we are thrilled to commence our operations from one of the most dynamic markets in South India, which is Bengaluru. With Vietnam’s growing popularity among Indian travelers, these new direct flights will offer greater convenience, connectivity, and the elevated service standards that Vietnam Airlines is known for.”

Adding to this, Mr. Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director, Aeroprime Group (India GSA for Vietnam Airlines), commented, “The launch of our operations from Bengaluru marks a significant milestone in our India growth strategy. We are thrilled to provide business and leisure travelers from South India with direct access to Vietnam and beyond. We look forward to welcoming passengers onboard and supporting Vietnam Airlines in their expansion plans across India going forward. ‘’

The addition of direct flights from Bengaluru will further strengthen tourism and cultural and business ties between India and Vietnam. With this, Vietnam Airlines is currently operating 18 flights weekly from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Additionally, the airline is set to launch operations from Hyderabad next week, expanding its network in India.
