World Spa Awards 2017 winners revealed: ‘Kempinski The Spa’ named Seychelles’ Best Resort Spa

Kempinski The Spa of Kempinski Seychelles Resort has been named Seychelles’ Best Resort Spa at the 3rd annual World Spa Awards. The World Spa Awards 2017 Gala Ceremony was held on December 10, 2017, at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa in Vietnam. The event was attended by hundreds of spa, hospitality and tourism leaders from around the globe.

This is the second consecutive year that Kempinski Seychelles Resort’s luxury spa, located at Baie Lazare, has been awarded the Seychelles’ Best Resort Spa title. The General Manager of Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Masami Egami said: “We feel humbled and honoured to once again have been voted Seychelles’ Best Resort Spa.”

“We were nominated alongside the most esteemed spas in the country and it is a testament to our remarkable spa team that we have won this award two years in a row,” he added.

The World Spa Awards, launched in 2015 by the World Travel Awards, is aimed at driving up standards within spa tourism by rewarding the organisations that are leaders in the field. Voting is done by professionals working within the spa industry – senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media – and by the public. Votes are submitted via the World Spa Awards website.

Awards are presented to the Best Hotel Spa, Best Resort Spa, Best Wellness Retreat, and Best Spa Destination, on a national level. The individual country level winner with the most votes also takes the world level award in each of the respective categories. A number of categories exist on a world-level only, such as Best Airline Lounge Spa, Best Cruise Line Spa, Best Spa Brand, Best Medical Spa and Best Desert Spa.

The Managing Director of the World Spa Awards Rebecca Cohen said: “It has been a pleasure to recognise so many industry leaders (…) and I hope their recognition, both by their peers and members of the public, will inspire them to aim ever higher in the pursuit of excellence.”

Kempinski The Spa of Kempinski Seychelles Resort, was among 10 Seychelles’ spa nominated in this year’s World Spa Awards. The other Seychelles’s Best Resort Spa 2017 Nominees nominees are: Banyan Tree Spa Seychelles, Eforea Spa at Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, Island Spa at Enchanted Island Resort, Raffles Spa at Raffles Praslin Seychelles, Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon, The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, The Spa at Maia Luxury Resort & Spa, The Spa at North Island Seychelles and U Spa by Constance at Constance Lemuria.

The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles was named Seychelles’ Best Hotel Spa at the inaugural World Spa Awards in 2015.
