Taiwan Tourism offers incentives for spurt in Indian MICE travel

Taiwan Tourism Bureau will focus on Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai and encourage more MICE travel from India.

An interesting destination that presents the microcosm of Asia is undoubtedly Taiwan, endowed with fascinating landscapes, rich cultural and spiritual heritage, tantalizing cuisine and renowned hot springs. In its latest move to bring a surge in Indian tourist arrival particularly MICE tourists, Taiwan Tourism Bureau has lined up a string of forward-looking initiatives and is looking to tap the strong spending powers of high-end Indian travellers.

Arthur Hsieh, Director, Taiwan Tourism Bureau of Singapore explained, “We intend to utilize our presence among travel trade consumers, media and make use of latest strategies and technologies to reach out to the target market. Digital marketing, information and communication will form an indispensable part of our tourism bureau and the tourism industry as well in the coming period. Since New Delhi and Mumbai have the highest number of outbound traffic in India, we are targeting these two metros that form the major source markets. We have been quite active with our promotional campaigns in New Delhi and Mumbai.”

Besides, the tourism bureau also plans to spread out its reach to Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai through detailed consumer and trade campaigns. Arthur Hsieh said, “The spending power of travellers from Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai is on the rise. All the three metros have a bright future and would grow at a pace in the coming years. In this age, India is our fastest growing market and the number of Indians embarking upon global travel is at an all-time high. Based upon travel industry estimates and depending upon the current outbound scenario, we do expect an upward trend in receiving Indian tourist arrival in Taiwan.” In an attempt to motivate global participation in MICE activities of Taiwan, the tourism bureau has a host of support systems and incentive programmes for all events.

"Strategies of Taiwan Tourism Bureau: Digital marketing information and communication constitute its basis. Reaching out other metros like Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai. Unveiled incentive plan for Indian MICE travellers. Stressing more on Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Sun Moon Lake."
