Air India launches Delhi-Vienna flights

New European route to operate three times a week

The service will now operate three times a week using a two-class Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Flight AI153 leaves Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1405 and arrives in Vienna at 1845. The return flight, AI154, then departs the Austrian capital at 2245 and arrives back in Delhi at 0925 the next morning.

Ashwani Lohani, chairman & managing director of Air India, commented; “The new service assumed significance in view of the strong relationship that India and Austria have been sharing in tourism, education, industry, culture etc. The new service will cater to different segments of air travellers.”

Vienna becomes Air India’s eighth destination in Europe, and the national carrier said it is now exploring plans to add new destinations as part of its international expansion plans.
