IndiGo offering flight tickets below INR 1000 for select flight routes

Thinking of booking tickets? IndiGo has some interesting offers right now.

If you were waiting for a good time to book your flight tickets for a winter holiday getaway, this could be it. India’s homegrown low-cost air carrier IndiGo has some relatively cheap tickets on offer on its website, according to an NDTV report. The largest budget airline in India is offering tickets priced below INR 1,000 on certain flight routes, like Agartala to Kolkata and Bagdogra to Guwahati.

According to the website, flights from Agartala to Kolkata were priced at INR 978 as of yesterday, while flights from Bagdogra to Guwahati were priced at INR 1,005 onwards. This was excluding an INR 200 convenience fee for online payments, however. It wasn’t just flights between lower tier airports that were being offered at lower prices. IndiGo’s website also listed tickets from Delhi to Lucknow and Coimbatore to Chennai at INR 1,030 and INR 1,095, respectively.

Flights from INR 1,005 were offered for dates in January 2018. IndiGo was also offering flights from Chennai to Bengaluru for INR 1,120, Agartala to Guwahati for INR 1,130, Chennai to Coimbatore for INR 1,148 and Delhi to Jaipur for INR 1,176. IndiGo has some stiff competition in the market. India has a fast-growing civil aviation industry as more people find it easier and more convenient to book flights to their destinations.

That train bookings remain a hassle has also contributed to the growing preference for flight travel. The New Year and winter holiday season has already got the travel bug spreading across India, and airliners have been milking the trend with discounts lately. Incidentally, India has one of the fastest-growing domestic aviation markets in the world.
