The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi presents ‘Carnival for a Cause’
A platform built amongst the fashionistas in the industry, building a strong connect on the noble cause of Breast Cancer awareness
In its endeavor to constantly deliver meaningful experiences to its patrons, The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, one of the most distinguished addresses in the National Capital, united with Elle India to welcome summer with the ‘Carnival for a Cause’. The annual initiative hosted by the iconic Hotel and led by the Ogaan Cancer Foundation is a step towards sustaining the noble cause of creating awareness around Breast Cancer. The funds raised from the carnival were extended to the Foundation as well as supported the Women’s Cancer Initiative – Tata Memorial Hospital, working in the area of breast health.
The grand carnival witnessed eminent guests from across the fashion fraternity, from designers to celebrated personalities such as Hari Bhartia (Founder and Co-Chairman Jubilant Life Sciences) & Kavita Bhartia, a designer and owner of Ogaan, Aashima & Ashish Soni – Fashion Designer and owner of Label – Ashish N Soni, Supriya Dravid – Fashion Features Director, Haarpers Bazaar India, Urvashi Kaur – Fashion Designer, Priya Paul – Director of Apeejay Surrendra Group and Chairperson of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, Enda Noone – Co Founder – Ikka Dukka, Punit Jasuja – Wedding planner & owner at Second Floor Studio, to name a few.
The theme for this year’s carnival was “Welcome Summer” and the evening saw spirited performances by Bismarc – Music band and a DJ from Dubai. On display were designer wear, accessories and essentials from luxury to young and exciting brands such as – Masaba, Amrapali, Anamika Khanna, Swarovski, Raw Mango, Anita Dongre, Payal Khandwala, Hugo Boss, Kerastase, Clinique, and many more. The evening also saw a silent auction featuring designer merchandise from prestige brands like Gucci, Gaurav Gupta, Tod’s, Shantanu & Nikhil, Anamika Khanna.
Standing up to the theme, the ‘Carnival for a Cause’ at Taj Mahal, New Delhi was a tribute to Summer with some great music and sumptuous food while imparting awareness on a social cause and at the same time indulging into the summertime merriment with fabulous discounts on some of the most dazzling fashion and beauty brands. The Hotel’s culinary experts presented a gourmet galore with live food stations and specially crafted delicacies ranging from Prosciutto and melon wrap, Norvagan salmon, Turkish chilli batter fried prawn, Rosemary lamb and pine nut calzones, Mango and red cabbage salad with spicy Thai peanut vinaigrette, Grilled bratwurst sausages, Frankfurters, Lemongrass crème brulee Red velvet pastry, Rose marmalade cheese cake, and many more.

These organizations work towards breast cancer awareness. The Elle Carnival raises funds through the sale of designer wear and luxury merchandise at an affordable price. The annual event has been a springtime favorite for the city, where they have been able to make a difference and have fun, all in one event.
